What is physical violence?

Physical violence is when anyone causes you physical pain by hitting, Kicking or using another type of physical force you with or without leaving marks.

What is emotional abuse?

Emotional abuse includes non-physical behaviors that are meant to control, isolate, or frighten you. This may present in romantic relationships as threats, insults, constant monitoring, excessive jealousy, manipulation, humiliation, intimidation, dismissiveness and financial control.

What is sexual violence?

Sexual violence and abuse is any behaviour thought to be of a sexual nature which is unwanted and takes place without consent.

Sexual violence and abuse can be physical, psychological, verbal or online. Any behaviour of a sexual nature that causes you distress is considered sexual violence or abuse.

How can we help?

You can come to Firvale Community Hub and talk to a trusted member of staff confidentially. We will then assess your situation and offer appropriate help, advice and support. We can help you leave a violent relationship and help you become independent financially by helping you apply for housing and benefits, helping you through court processes and helping you emotionally.

We will work with other agencies in Sheffield to ensure that you and your children are kept safe.
