Pink Ribbon

Firvale Community Hub has been working with the Pink Ribbon foundation and Breast Cancer now for 12 months raising awareness on Breast Cancer and working with women from the BAME and Roma Communities.

We have run several workshops over the 12 months in various languages.

The workshops were put together to educate the women on:

We had many volunteers and women get involved in the project including women who were undergoing treatment, women who were cancer survivors and families who had lost loved ones.

The project brought many women and communities together and gave women to open up and share stories in a safe environment.

We ended the project with a city wide event, called Love Yourself. The event was a night of fun, dance and laughter and also using the opportunity to educate and empower women.

We had women share stories, remember loved ones and show love and support to themselves and others. We had 200 women attend the event. The women were all given information packs to take away and share with loved ones.

Thanks to the project we have managed to recruit some amazing volunteers who will be doing some amazing work with us in the future.

Firvale Community Hub would like to thank all our amazing volunteers, without whom it would have been impossible to run the event.

Thanks to everyone that attend and made the event a success.

If you need any help, advice and support around breast cancer then please get in touch with Saima Ahmed at FCH on 0114 2619130.

We are also looking for volunteers.
